What do teachers have to say about this resource? (4309)
"This is extremely detailed and engaging, and would be worth using within classes involving a range of ability. It's easy to follow and prompts students to think for themselves regularly. There is an emphasis on additional learning, which is a great starting point for any teachers hoping to encourage wider reading amongst their students. I was pleased to see that the activities and study tasks were flexible and tiered for differentiative learning. This will be a godsend to many teaching the C/D borderline groups!" Penglais English Dept. and Ind. Reviewer
Worth buying - it offers a lot of well-organised information and caters for a lot of different learning styles and is laid out comprehensively for staff too. The context, chapter overviews, starters, plenaries and the range of activities are excellent. Would buy for this alone. The knowledge is in-depth and encourages further questioning and research. Not only can the information and activities be easily differentiated between Foundation and Higher, but many activities can be tweaked to fit with the need to fulfill various reading, writing and speaking tasks. (inspectors would love to see this SoW in action) and offer a lot of cross-curricular and inter-topic links. E Evans, GCSE English Teacher and Ind. Reviewer
'Well organised and well written. I thought that the organisation makes the resource easy to navigate and the chapter by chapter vocabulary glossaries would be useful to students.'V Denman, English HoD, Independent Reviewer
