What do teachers have to say about this resource? (4647)
" Excellent! Extremely useful pre-exam targeted and the scheme of work is good. I would recommend it." L Churchill, English Teacher and Satsfied Customer
An excellent focus on exam skills such as recasting and linguistic analysis [with] very close attention to assessment objectives and requirements of the exam. Lots of detail on the different articles and extremely useful suggested recasting tasks. I love the planning grid for recasting tasks! H Dyson, English Teacher and Ind. Reviewer
We found the old resource pack hugely helpful; the second edition does not disappoint!...It prepares students thoroughly for the exam by helping them to identify the key elements of the texts. Also helps them to appreciate and enjoy women's journalism. Students can use this study guide for independent learning or in class... Questions both help students to grasp context (which they need and do not usually know about beforehand) and asks them to unpick stylistic aspects too. Re-cast questions can be difficult to replicate as you need to use some imagination whilst remaining true to the texts, but this author gets it just right." M Courtney-Holt, English Teacher and Ind.
