The Departmental Handbook and guidelines were very comprehensive and would seem to meet the needs of schools preparing for an inspection.
Very informative and well laid out. Useful resource for a school to purchase ... Clear details of what needs to be in a handbook, with justifications linked to what the inspectors are looking for ... I think it would be best used as part of an inset, where current best practise could be shared within a school. This would then allow discussion and concensous within an organisation to produce uniform documents across the whole school ... Document does exactly what it states its objectives are, and will be of a great aid when I update current handbook ... The step by step approach would help standardise handbooks within a school
nice explanations for each section - not patronising, would be useful to someone not used to ofsted inspections - gives you an idea what to expect
easy to read
