An Introduction to the Horror Genre

A set of PowerPoint presentations, with supporting worksheets. The worksheets cover background information on the genre of horror, as well as setting questions and group discussion work on various films, the implications and effect the film created on the wider audience.

  • The PowerPoint presentations comprise of two parts. The first being 5 sessions looking at the horror genre in general terms and the second being an in-depth look at eight historic texts.
  • Encourages Student participation and group discussions.
  • Practice Exam Questions with notes on achieving a good mark.
  • Examples of debates on "video nasties" for the students to role play.
