Pre-order Items

Pre-order resources will either have a single dispatch date or a date range. Where there is a date range:
  • The earlier date is the best-case scenario – the date by which we aim to dispatch the resource to you, if the resource sails through quality and similar checks.
  • The later date is given to indicate the latest date by which you should expect the resource to be dispatched.

These dispatch dates may occasionally be moved back, in which case we will notify you. Conversely, publications are often delivered earlier than the dates shown.

For more information, and to see the full list of pre-order items for your subject, see the Future Publication Dates

GCSE History Challenge Cards

Differentiated lesson activities with clear cross-references to different boards. The second editions now feature a comprehensive answers section to the challenge cards. Each card deals with one aspect or key event from the period and is in two parts:

  • Focused written activities enable students to develop a knowledge base of the period using higher order thinking skills. Students acquire the knowledge while undertaking more challenging thinking activities about issues underpinning events.
  • Controversies, hypotheses and interpretations for students to think about and discuss. Deepen students’ understanding and provide greater complexity with a higher level of analysis.

What do teachers have to say about this resource? (2055)
An excellent resource, it takes away the hours of note taking experienced by many pupils. Pupils are encouraged to think on a higher level and the challenge cards offer a fantastic differentiated approach that allows pupils to discuss/debate.L Chilton, History Teacher and Independent Reviewer
"An excellent resource that gives effective simple activities for the learners to take part in and from just reading through the resource I can see this being very useful to staff and has excellent potential for differentiation. A lot of hours worth of preparation would be saved by using this resource." D&nspb;Long, Teacher and Independent Reviewer
What do teachers have to say about this resource? (2047)
I really liked this resource, it was full of choice, it had lots of different ideas for exercises, I would use it to make lessons more differentiated, I would use it as a plenary exercise or maybe even a warm up exercise, really, really useful N Shepley
